A young person recently diagnosed with ADHD was experiencing difficulties with motivation, organisation, emotional regulation and self-confidence while navigating the demands of secondary education.
Individual mentoring and ADHD coaching combined conversation, creative activities and evidence-informed techniques, including CBT, ACT, executive-functioning strategies, journalling and emotional regulation exercises.
Sessions focused on understanding ADHD, identifying individual strengths, developing manageable approaches to academic work and challenging negative self-beliefs.
The young person successfully navigated GCSEs and progressed into sixth form, developing greater understanding of ADHD and practical strategies for managing educational demands.
Support helped build confidence, independence and a more positive understanding of neurodivergence.
