An adult experiencing significant caring responsibilities, grief, anxiety, depression and periods of suicidal thinking was struggling with overwhelming demands. The combination of personal responsibilities and emotional pressure left little opportunity for rest, recovery or personal wellbeing.
Regular, confidential sessions combined supportive conversation with CBT-informed techniques, ACT, DBT-informed emotional regulation, grief-focused exercises and practical approaches to managing overwhelm.
Techniques included Worry Diaries, Circle of Control, prioritisation, boundary-setting, grounding and breaking complex responsibilities into manageable actions. Ongoing conversations also provided opportunities to discuss safety, emotional wellbeing and additional support when needed.
Support focused on reducing mental overload, establishing healthier boundaries and developing sustainable coping strategies. Regular sessions provided a consistent space to process difficult emotions, identify immediate priorities and work towards a healthier balance between caring responsibilities and personal wellbeing.
